The Financing Fair is a dynamic opportunity for farms and food businesses seeking capital to engage with funders, pitch their business plans, and forge new partnerships. Entrepreneurs selected to participate in the Fair host a table to provide information about their products or services and provide samples, if appropriate.
In the last three years, Financing Fair participants have raised more than $8 million in debt and equity financing. This is a juried Fair and businesses must apply to participate.
Who Should Apply?
Anyone in the business of growing, manufacturing, packaging, distributing or selling locally grown sustainable food. The business must be located in and serve the Chicago foodshed and its core business values must align with Good Food values.
What Is the Cost?
While there is no cost to apply, those selected to participate in the Financing Fair must purchase a ticket to attend the Good Food Financing & Innovation Conference. The cost is $95 and tickets may be purchased here.
How to Apply If You Are an Entrepreneur
Please complete the online Financing Fair Application Form. A LinkedIn or Facebook account is required to log on to the application host site. The deadline to apply is Monday, February 2, 2015. The selection process will be completed and accepted applicants notified by Wednesday, February 11, 2015. The Selection Committee reserves the right to disqualify submissions that are incomplete, do not follow application requirements or guidelines, and may, at its discretion, request resubmission if application criteria are not met.
