Diane Schmidt, a Chicago parent, became fed up with the poor quality of food offered on children’s menus while dining out with her family. With her background in health education, marketing and culinary, she had an idea to get kids eating healthier and created Healthy Fare for Kids™.
Healthy Fare for Kids™. began as a grass-roots initiative asking restaurants to offer healthier food for children on their menus. A little over a year later, it has grown into a multifaceted approach to improve kid’s health, reaching over 11 million people.
Diane holds a BS and MA degrees in health education and a MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
