John Hall founded Goose Island Beer Company in 1988. The original brewpub was one of the first businesses to locate on the Clybourn corridor. In 1996, the Fulton Street brewery and bottling plant opened and a second brewpub was added in Wrigleyville in 1999. Prior to Goose Island, Mr. Hall was with Container Corporation of America for twenty years. He received a MBA from the University of Iowa and a BS from the University of Northern Iowa.
John and his wife Pat live in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago. He is on the Board of Directors of Erie Neighborhood House and Erie Elementary Charter School; FarmedHere; and the Craft Beer Advisory Board at AB/InBev.
